The objective of the Data on the effort and production of sea fishing by vessels under the French flag (SACROIS) source is to produce series of "official" reference fishing statistics (capacity, effort and number of sea outings) for regulatory monitoring, calls for data and expertise. It responds to an identified need to have a single and consistent source of fishing statistics, and also meets European regulatory obligations. It is produced from the qualification/cross-validation of the different sources of declarative data available. This operation is carried out by the dedicated SACROIS application. This data source provides details of business categories, status and presentation per capture. It also provides the consolidated and qualified data series of fishing effort and catches generated by the SACROIS application, by vessel*tide*day (or vessel*sale*day for orphan sales without associated tide) per month and day. Finally, it provides information which identifies the links between SACROIS tides and OFIMER (National Interprofessional Office for Sea and Aquaculture Products) sales.
