This project addresses two research questions at the crossroads of environmental economics and international economics: firstly, what are the effects of globalization and trade shocks on emissions by heterogeneous companies producing in different countries? And secondly, what is the rationale for having incomplete environmental regulation policies (both in terms of geography and sector)? The project therefore addresses these two questions in the context of French manufacturing companies. As France is a member of the European Union - and therefore participates in the European CO2 emissions trading system - it is important to take into account the interaction of this type of regulation and trade when analyzing changes in emissions by French companies.
