The aim of this project is to shed light on the social forces behind incest by a parent on his or her child (the most frequent case), with the first hypothesis being that the phenomenon of incest and its silencing are made possible by the social age relations of the context under consideration. Secondary analysis of public statistics databases will enable us to identify territories or types of territory that are highly distinct in terms of the prevalence of this type of violence and potential social determinants. Then, a field survey will enable us to study in greater depth the social relations between age groups and other social characteristics in contrasting areas in terms of prevalence. By comparing these findings, we will be able to identify the social relationships that most limit this type of violence. The second line of investigation, relating to public policies, will be studied in the selected areas through documentary and field work.
