Diabetes represents a major global public health challenge, due to its high prevalence, chronic nature and impact on morbidity and mortality. Significant inequalities are observed, with increased prevalence among disadvantaged socioeconomic groups. Our research aims to use the concentration index and the horizontal inequality index to quantitatively explore income-related disparities in diabetes prevalence and care utilization.
The use of data from the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) makes this assessment of health inequalities in France possible,
This analysis will provide empirical evidence to guide effective public health policies, thereby reducing health inequalities and improving access to care for vulnerable populations in France. Matching of EHIS data with the SNDS is not required.
