This project leverages several in-work transfers reforms in France (particularly the creation and extension of the "prime d'activité") to estimate their impact on labor supply and wages. This project is part of an international consortium involving teams from the United Kingdom and Germany.
The project aims to address the following research questions:
1. What is the impact of labor market transfers on wages?
2. What factors influence the impact of labor market transfers on wages? How is the incidence related to other aspects of the labor market environment, 3. especially minimum wages?
3. How do labor market transfers affect the distribution of household income?
4. Which labor market model (emphasizing search frictions and/or market power) can best rationalize our findings?
