This study is set within the scope of a thesis which has been started at the end of 2011 under S.Fol’s guidance. My studies have dealt with recent socio-spatial recruitments of academics from the Paris region. We will try to explain these evolutions by combining a quantitative (student registration data DEPP-SIES) and qualitative (namely through semi-directed biographical interviews of students) approach. The issue at stake is to question the evolution of these recruitments in terms of opening up to a “wider public” academic teaching.
