Housing markets: Dynamics of land use, prices and wealth

MALODYN
This project aims to analyze the issue of affordable housing. Depending on the territorial context, the attaintment of affordable housing objectives can be achieved through different channels: in growing territories, where land pressure is very high, the challenge is to produce affordable housing by limiting the increase in prices while at the same time ensuring that micro-densification is accepted, whereas in territories where land pressure is lower, the aim is to re-use land in the city center and make it more attractive. The objective is to understand how urban dynamics of land use are related to the dynamics of wealth distribution and price dynamics, in order to enrich existing work in urban economics. We will mainly mobilize the framework of urban microeceonomics, with empirical analyses.
