This work aims to understand the farming practices of using pesticides in wine growing, to assess the link with farm performance, and to identify the different possible economic incentives at the farm level that could allow the reduction of the use of pesticides in the vineyards in France. The work is part of the research prohect VITAE ("Cultivating the grapevine without pesticides: towards agroecological wineproducing socio-ecosystems"), funded bt the French Priority Research Program "Growing and Protecting crops Differently". The research project VITAE is a multi-disciplinary project with the objective of suggesting ways to remove pesticides in viticulture.
