This research project aims to assess the effect of environmental policies on the labour market in France. We will classify polluting and non-polluting companies/sectors based on their energy consumption over the period and match these data with data on pollutant emissions by energy source. A first micro-econometric part will aim to determine the effect of the adoption of technologies to reduce pollutant emissions on the structure of the workforce in these establishments. A second, more macroeconomic part, will consist of calculating transition rates and employment rates by sector. These data will be used to estimate the parameters of a structural model characterized by frictions in the labour market and the diversity of companies and workers. We will thus analyze the effect of environmental policies on job creation/destruction or on wages.
