New forms for organizing work time and employee well-being (ANR JOBSUSTAIN)

JOBSUST
This project hypothesizes that employment quality influences the sustainability of employment in the context of technological change. We examine several dimensions of the quality of work, and more particularly, work time and work-life balance. We analyze their effects on workers' health and job satisfaction. Working time and the organization thereof have been transformed in connection with digitalization (increased flexibility, remote work, etc.), which may have ambiguous effects on workers' well-being. Our analyses thus seek to highlight certain risk factors regarding health at work and the role of policies promoting work sustainability. The analyses are first conducted among workers. We then use linked employer-employee data to analyze how the effect of organizational working time varies according to company practices.
