Maritime Chair - Socio-Economic analyzes

CHAMARA
Today, the blue economy is growing rapidly and the challenges of sustainable development in the maritime sectors are several-fold: how to balance the economic development of sea-based practices with environmental, regulatory and societal issues? The aim of the Maritime Chair research is therefore to contribute to reflections on the national strategy for the sea and coast, by providing tools to gain a better understanding of the interactions between the various dimensions (environmental, regulational, societal, economic) and facilitate the dialogue between practices. As part of the Maritime Chair work, the aim set out for these social and economic analyses is firstly to characterize the sea and coast practices. This involves using methods to assess the wealth and jobs created by activities within a given maritime area.
