The Department of Statistics, Studies and Documentation (DSED), ministerial statistical service for immigration, is attached to the General Directorate for Foreigners in France (DGEF). Its field of competence concerns the monitoring of migration flows, the reception of newcomers, the acquisition of French nationality and asylum.
The signature of this agreement will make the “Elipa 2” Longitudinal Survey on the Integration of Newcomers (persons admitted for residence) available for research purposes. The main objectives of this survey are to understand the integration process in France of new migrants during the three years following the granting of their first residence permit (excluding “student” reasons) and to evaluate the reception system put in place by the Ministry of the Interior (the Republican Integration Contract – CIR).
