The project aims to explore the role of supply-side factors on the gender wage gap. Indee, a growing literature documents the gender-biased preferences impacting the job search behaviour and leading to different occupational distribution. Nrevertheless, while there are a lot of laboratory studies about psychological factors of occupational segregation, there has been only a limited number of studies confirming the relevance of these factors for labour market outcomes. The FH-DADS French database provides unique information on job search behaviour and reemployment outcomes. Using this dataset and wage decomposition methods, the project will assess the importance of psychological factors and preferences in the job search process. Therefore, the project will explore the gender pay gap evolution along the lifetime through gender-biased preferences and the related occupational distribution differences arisinf from the supply side.
