This project focuses on residential mobility of French households and is organized into two complementary parts. First, we intend to undertake a descriptive study (mapping) of mobility in metropolitan France over the last 25 years. Based on a traditional spatial breakdown (intra-communal, communal, departmental and regional divisions), we will attempt to identify the main structural trends. We will also adopt an urban approach (city center/suburb/peri-urban/rural divisions), presenting the results according to the nature and size of the urban area. Secondly, this project will include an analytical dimension by seeking to identify the drivers of residential mobility flows. We will adopt a multifactorial approach to identify the effects on the nature/characteristics of the housing (location, surface, comfort) as well as the impact on the occupation status of the household.
