Providing local authorities with the tools they need to grasp the challenges of residential costs in their areas

COUTRES
The COUT-RES project examines the residential costs of households, i.e., their housing and daily mobility expenses according to their socioeconomic characteristics and residential location. Linking these two expenditure categories seems relevant for the analysis, both because of their respective proportions in the household budget and because of their interrelationship in terms of the real estate market. It also covers important social, environmental and economic issues for the regions studied. The aim of the project is to participate in the experimentation of a 'residential cost' module, tested during the last EMC² in Grenoble (2019-20) and to be repeated in the next EMC² in Clermont-Ferrand (2022-23). The Grenoble survey used the Fidéli file as the basis for the survey, and the identifiers were retained. Access to the file will enable us to check the consistency of household responses between EMC² and Fidéli and to improve the methodology used in the module.
