The estimation of the distribution of heating energy in construction is therefore done by using the ICC survey. The results are consolidated by our other sources of information. This estimation is part of a broader framework which is to change the housing stock each year according to heating energy. These annual estimates are necessary, since the INSEE HOUSING surveys are only carried out every 4 years, or even less. The methodology developed by CEREN thus updates the results of the HOUSING survey each year. Each year, CEREN provides a report on energy consumption in the residential sector based on the estimation of the housing stock and energy consumption per dwelling. The results are communicated to the SDES as part of an agreement. The ICC survey has been used since 1985. This is a request for an extension of authorization. The previous authorization ended on April 30, 2024.
