The aim of this research project is to analyse the spatial dynamics of 6 family change since the 1960s in 4 European countries (France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland) at the local geographical level over a long period of more than 50 years.
The project has two objectives, the first of which is to spatialise family change in these two countries. The idea is to identify the first and last areas affected by these changes, and also the way in which they have spread geographically. The second objective is to understand the factors underlying the spatial dynamics identified, including the cultural and socio-economic dimensions and the role of borders. This project will mobilise a large amount of data from different sources (censuses, vital statistics, population registers, etc.).
