DISPIMI
This thesis aims to develop a quantitative understanding of inequalities in access to healthcare and preventive care for the immigrant population in France. Firstly, it will seek to understand how ethnic inequalities intersect with socio-economic inequalities to shape the use of healthcare and preventive care. I will thus document these healthcare disparities from an intersectional perspective. Next, I'll take a closer look at linguistic factors and their impact on difficulties in accessing healthcare for immigrants. In particular, I will look at the quantitative link between French language proficiency and the use of and access to healthcare. Finally, I will introduce mesoscopic factors to understand the shaping of these inequalities: in particular, I will look at the effects of ethnic density in the neighborhood of residence, as well as the role of the availability of health services in the neighborhood of residence.
