Iron deficiency is a common complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD), with patients suffering from both absolute and functional iron deficiency. More than 50% of CKD patients are deficient before the end stage and it is now known that iron deficiency is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and possibly mortality in these patients. However, the follow-up of these patients remains poorly documented.
The main objective of the study is to describe, globally and by stage of the renal disease, the prevalence of martial deficiency in CKD patients of stage 3 to 5 and the characteristics of these patients.
