Measuring social and professional mobility within lower classes

MOSOPRO
This project studies the channels of social and professional mobility within the fragile fractions of the working classes. Rather than focusing on the rare examples of high social mobility, we analyze the pathways which lead to category B and C jobs in the civil service, and to jobs in the " road world " (especially drivers). The purpose is to retrace the personal and professional life paths of individuals working in these occupations, by identifying the resources needed to access and establish themselves in sectors offering relative professional security (for the civil service) or the prospect of greater autonomy, or even independence (for drivers). This project will also contribute to the analysis of the changing opportunities for social mobility among the working classes, by measuring the degree of openness of the social space.
