This project aims to gain a better understanding of the factors determining spatial disparities in wages, both nominal and adjusted for local living costs, including housing costs. Analyses of spatial disparities have until now focused on studying nominal earnings. This project will compare the nominal earnings of employees in different areas with the cost of housing and amenities in order to determine, among other things, the extent to which real income increases or decreases with the size of the city, and is offset or not by the presence of local amenities (whether public, such as universities or museums, or private, such as restaurants) or purely geographical features (climate, sea, mountains, etc.).
