Immigrations and Mobilities of Yesterday and Today in Nouvelle-Aquitaine (IMHANA)

IMHANAQ
The project "Immigrations and Mobilities of Yesterday and Today in Nouvelle-Aquitaine" (IMHANA acronym in french) is part of a multidisciplinary approach aimed at exploring the migratory dynamics that have shaped and continue to transform the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, particularly its rural areas. These areas, often perceived as being less affected by migration, actually have a long migratory history, shaped by various flows of foreign populations over time. By examining the movements and presence of foreign populations, the project seeks to understand how these migrations have contributed to the emergence of a "rural cosmopolitanism" by transforming local communities. The study employs a mixed methodology, combining statistical analyses, field surveys, and historical approaches, to grasp the impacts of both historical and recent migratory flows.
