The agricultural crisis in France highlights income inequalities and environmental challenges facing the sector. Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers potential solutions to enhance operational and environmental efficiency. However, empirical research on its impact is limited, particularly in the agri-food sector. This study aims to quantitatively assess the impact of process innovations, primarily AI-derived, on operational and environmental efficiency in agri-food, using the CIS2020 survey. By examining this link, it contributes to filling a gap in economic literature while shedding light on the role of innovation in firm performance. The findings will also inform public policies aimed at supporting agricultural sectors in addressing these challenges.
