The aim of the project is to identify the socio-economic and institutional determinants of the agro-ecological transition in Guadeloupe and to understand how public policies and the current institutional framework promote or constrain this transition. After taking stock of the evolution of the Guadeloupe farming population and characterising the level of transition of farms, the determinants of the agroecological transition at territorial level will be examined. Farmers' use of transition incentives will be analysed. A particular focus will be placed on new entrants to farming and their dynamics in relation to the rest of the farming population. The case study selected is Guadeloupean agriculture, but comparisons will be made with the dynamics observed on a national scale. An inventory will be drawn up on a statistical basis from the data requested. The inventory will be used to draw up a typology of farmers, wich will then be used to target categories of informants in the field.
