Innovation is an essential factor for understanding a sub-national territory's economic growth and competitiveness based on the existing collaborations between the different socio-economic actors of a region, such as companies, research laboratories, and transfer and support institutions. This research project contributes to this discussion, which combines notions of Regional Innovation Systems and Territorial Technological Intelligence to analyse and develop methods that aim to understand the problems linked to the innovation ecosystem of the French Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The principal purpose is to facilitate the decision-making of territorial development actors and understand the innovation process of this territory. Territorial benchmarking and Intellectual Property approaches will be used to process and interpret informational material from a variety of sources.
