The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a specialized agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), is currently conducting a CASD research project to assess the potential impact of lung cancer screening in France.
Estimates are made of the benefits, risks and cost-effectiveness of screening. The aim is to identify the most optimal approaches if lung cancer screening were to be implemented in France.
This project is one of 15 research projects using data from the Constances cohort matched to the SNDS (système national des données de santé) hosted at the CASD, out of a total of some fifty. Constances is a “generalist” epidemiological cohort comprising a representative sample of 220,000 adults aged 18 to 69 at the time of inclusion.
The cohort celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2022, and its teams have been working on CASD’s secure computing environments since 2019.
