Among the issues discussed after Florent Diverchy’s presentation of the High Level Expert Group’s report to Eurostat on “Facilitating the Use of New Data Sources for Official Statistics” was the question of the conditions of access for official statistics to these data, which are currently very limited in Chapter 5 of the Data Act to very exceptional circumstances, and the question of negotiating multi-party contracts for official statistics access to private sources, including the possibility of access for research.
